ST Engineering Showcases The aquaSIM Poseidon And The New SSRV At IMDEX Asia 2007
Singapore, 14 May 2007 - Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd (ST Engineering) will be showcasing its range of systems and solutions for the naval and maritime sectors at IMDEX Asia 2007 which will be held at the Singapore Expo from 15 - 18 May 2007. Among its displays are the aquaSIM Poseidon and the Submarine Support and Rescue Vessel (SSRV).
ST Engineering's electronics arm, ST Electronics, will unveil its naval tactics and warfare trainer, the aquaSIM Poseidon. The trainer simulates wartime scenarios with realism for trainees to plan, fight and evaluate decisions made. When linked with other trainers, this sophisticated system allows commanders and their teams to train together and interact freely in a highly realistic virtual environment. Visitors will get firsthand experience of the challenges faced by naval commanders out at sea when they try out the aquaSIM Poseidon simulator at IMDEX Asia.
Its marine arm, ST Marine, will feature, for the first time, the SSRV which is part of the ship and submarine rescue system, comprising the SSRV and the Submarine Rescue Vehicle (SRV). The SSRV will be used to transport the SRV and its handling systems out to sea. The SSRV will lower the SRV into the water to reach a submarine in distress. A significant $400m contract was recently awarded by the Republic of Singapore Navy to ST Marine and its partner to design, build, operate and maintain the system.
Also on display are ST Engineering's proven and sophisticated solutions for disaster relief operations and homeland security, as well as its network-centric naval platforms.
Please refer to the attached Fact Sheet for more information. We would be delighted to host you at Hall 2, Booth 300 at Singapore Expo from 15 - 18 May 2007.
