ST Aerospace Presents Integrated Solutions at Singapore Airshow 2010

The Preferred Provider of Choice

Singapore, 1 February 2010 - Having grown from its beginning as a maintenance depot for the Republic of Singapore Air Force to one of the world's biggest independent maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) company, ST Aerospace is exhibiting its latest aerospace engineering and MRO services at the Singapore Airshow this year.  Highlights include a full sized B737 cockpit featuring an upgrade in cockpit avionics to meet current regulatory needs, as well as a series of locally designed and developed unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) that are capable of civilian and military use.

Integrated Airframe, Engine and Component Solutions.  With a network of operations around the world, ST Aerospace's stand will also showcase its comprehensive suite of capabilities covering airframe, engines, components MRO; engineering design and technical services; aviation materials and management services, and pilot training and air charter.

Featuring the wide range of airline support services it provides as an Integrated Service Provider to some of the world's leading airlines, ST Aerospace demonstrates what it offers customers with a full menu of services to meet their needs.  Extending beyond MRO, it also promises integrated solutions for aircraft, components and engines that include fleet technical and asset management, as well as engineering and development solutions.

These services are customised to meet airlines' needs while meeting regulatory requirements of airworthiness authorities under which airlines operate.  Customers, whether they be low cost carriers, air freight operators or airlines, have depended on the high quality services and reliable performances that ST Aerospace brings through its global network of aircraft MRO companies along with its extensive components and engines repair and overhaul capability.

Engineering Development Differentiator.  With an in-house aircraft design engineering capability, ST Aerospace offers customers a wide range of tailored engineering and design solutions for aircraft avionics, structural and system upgrades.  These capabilities include leading-edge design, development and technology integration.  To help customers upgrade their aircraft, ST Aerospace is able to develop avionics hardware and flight software solutions to the latest commercial technology standards.  This is achieved by the company's strong maintenance engineering, aerodynamics, aerosystems, structural and aeromechanical analysis expertise.

Avionics Systems Upgrade.  The B737 full sized cockpit mock-up demonstrates a typical narrow-body commercial aircraft cockpit upgrade comprising large 10-inch flat panel displays for pilot (primary flight display/navigation display, PFD/ND), engine indicators and alternative 15-inch display on the co-pilot instrument panel for Flight Management System (FMS) supporting future navigation requirements, and an electronic flight bag solution for flight dispatch and back office support functions.  This is possible due to ST Aerospace' strengths in aircraft design, development and system integration.  ST Aerospace is, as an independent design and development company, able to provide and integrate modern avionics systems from the best equipment of various original equipment manufacturers (OEM) to meet customers' specific requirements.

Unmanned Air Systems.  Leveraging on its advance engineering and design skills, ST Aerospace has developed innovative Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) systems targeted for the civilian and military market.  Testament to its aircraft design and systems development capabilities, ST Aerospace's unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) solutions, for example, the FanTail and Skyblade, or a tailored solution for customers who have different needs, are available for various applications.

The unique FanTail 5000 system, comprising of the FanTail 5000 air vehicle itself, a ground control station and a data-link system, is well suited for urban and military field environments where a combination of high transit speed (for quick response) and a vertical take-off and landing capability allows for over-the-hill, around-the-corner, and over-the-next-building surveillance and reconnaissance.

The Skyblade family was jointly developed with the Singapore-based DSO National Laboratories (DSO), with the latest versions being the Skyblade III and Skyblade IV systems.  Designed for rapid mission deployment, supporting military and civilian applications, and developed for fully autonomous flight operations, the Skyblade family of UAVs delivers an effective, highly mobile reconnaissance capability for any user.

Also on display is the Next Generation Control System (NGCS) that delivers a single, common control station platform for multiple types of UAV.  This innovative system simplifies training, operations and maintenance for users with more than one UAV systems in service.

ST Aerospace (Singapore Technologies Aerospace Ltd) is the aerospace arm of ST Engineering.  Operating a global MRO network with facilities in the Americas, Asia Pacific and Europe, it is the world's largest aircraft MRO provider with a global customer base that includes leading airlines, airfreight and military operators.  ST Aerospace is an integrated service provider that offers a spectrum of maintenance and engineering services that include airframe, engine and component maintenance, repair and overhaul; engineering design and technical services; and aviation materials and management services, including Total Aviation Support.  ST Aerospace has a global staff strength of more than 7,000 engineers and technical specialists.  Please visit www.staero.aero.
