ST Engineering's Land Systems Arm Won Tender to Continue to Provide Driver Training for SAF
Singapore, 2 February 2010 - ST Engineering today announced that its land systems arm, ST Kinetics, has been awarded a six-year contract worth S$87m to provide driver training for the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF). ST Kinetics' Driver Training Centre (DTC) has been training SAF personnel since August 1997 and the new contract will extend its services till December 2015.
DTC will provide basic riding and driving courses for Class 2, Class 3 and Class 4 licensing requirement, and upgrading courses for the Class 4S (articulated vehicle/trailer), Class 5 (recovery vehicle - driving only) and the All-terrain Forklift Course. It will also conduct advanced and continuation courses such as MAN Truck Familiarization Driving, MAN Truck Continuation Program, Ford Everest Familiarisation Driving, Artillery gun-towing training, Engineer special-to-type vehicle towing training.
Additionally, DTC is required to integrate on-road driving training with state-of-the-art Driving Training Simulator System developed and provided by the SAF for the basic riding and driving courses.

ST Kinetics DTC was established in July 1997 for the purpose of training SAF driver-learners. ST Kinetics was awarded the first six-year contract from 1 Aug 1997 to 31 Jul 2003, followed by an extension to 28 Dec 2009.
This contract is not expected to have any material impact on the consolidated net tangible assets per share and earnings per share of ST Engineering for the current financial year.
