LED Traffic Signal Lights
Singapore is the first country in the world to implement countrywide Light Emitting Diodes (LED) traffic signal lights. This pioneering project saw some 69,000 traffic signal lights at over 1,500 junctions in Singapore retrofitted with LED signals with improved visibility and good colour contrast compared to traditional filament-lamp based counterparts. ST Electronics holds two patents on fault detection and impedance matching of the traffic light systems.
