SHADES is an intelligent see-through Head-Up Display (HUD) which provides real-time MR/AR information to soldiers for improved situational awareness, and man-in-the-loop coordinated interactions with forward sensors for communication and coordination in order to improve frontline perception, response, navigation, identification & tracking. Availability of immediate, comprehensible and actionable mission and critical information significantly reduces the soldiers’ cognitive burden by shortening the Observe-Orient-Detect-Act cycles and enabling soldiers to be “Head-up, eyes-out, hands-on-trigger” at all times.
