A collaboration between ST Engineering's Electronics sector and the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) to raise the bar for advanced cyber security technologies and build sophisticated next-generation solutions and products to address current and future cyber security challenges.
Established in 2016, the laboratory is a test bed for new concepts and next-generation cyber security technologies, where these innovations are put through the rigours of real-world usage. From here, market-ready solutions are produced to tackle increasingly disruptive and costly cyber attacks.
With this laboratory, ST Engineering brings its expertise and in-depth domain knowledge in advanced cyber security products, cyber security operations centres and security solutions integration and services.
The key research and development areas of the ST Engineering Electronics-SUTD Cyber Security Laboratory are:
• Cyber security big-data analytics
• Developing trusted monitoring and mitigating techniques
• Developing innovative methods for detecting malicious and deceived insiders in an organisation
The laboratory also provides a platform for building capabilities in Singapore through research and development. As part of Singapore’s Smart Nation initiative, it will help expand the talent pool in the crucial specialty area of cyber security.
The joint laboratory is located at the new state-of-the-art SUTD campus at Changi, occupying 400 m2 of research and office space. At full-capacity, the laboratory will have around 60 cyber security researchers from ST Engineering and SUTD.
