Drawing on our expertise in shipbuilding, ST Engineering's Marine sector offers a wide spectrum of engineering solutions and services to customers, ranging from a bareboat charter for a Ropax passenger ferry to the provision of specialised engine servicing and building modular structure like offshore living quarters for the oil and gas in tough conditions at sea.
From our new Engine Service Centre that provides a full range of tools to carry out repairs and maintenance on ship engines to new bareboat charter services for Ropax vessel, we rely on our core engineering expertise to meet different customer requirements.
The Engine Service Centre now has a total space of 3,500m2, approximately 36 per cent larger than our previous Diesel Workshop. The new setup is 2,850m2 in size and has 650m2 for test cells and facilities.
It is also an MTU authorized service workshop, with full range of special tools to carry out a wide range MTU Engines. Test bench facilities include:
- HORIBA DT700-1 Dynamometer (700 KW)
- Zollner Dynamometer (4500 KW)
- Schenk Dynamometer (5200 KW) & MCS 4, MCS 5 Control System
They enable us to test 20V 538, 16V 595 and 16V 396 engines complete with MCS4 & MCS 5 monitoring and control units. The facilities can be further upgraded to accommodate a test bench using 10 MW to cover the entire range of MTU engines including 20V 8000 models.
We offer charters of passenger ferries as well, drawing on our engineering expertise in operating and maintaining the vessels. Charterers for a Ropax vessel include Inter Shipping SARL, a Morocco based shipping company. The vessel was deployed for a ferry services between Algeciras, Spain and Tangier, Morocco.
