Singapore, 14 April 2023 - ST Engineering today announced that its Urban Solutions business has been awarded a contract worth around $200 million from Singapore’s Land Transport Authority to provide an Integrated Supervisory Control System (ISCS) and Communications System for the Cross Island Line (CRL). ST Engineering Urban Solutions’ contracted scope is expected to commence in 2Q2023.
The CRL Phases 1 and 2 as well as the CRL-Punggol Extension comprises one depot and 21 underground stations, eight of which are interchange stations. The ISCS will enable real-time, centralised monitoring and control of electrical and mechanical subsystems along the rail network of around 50km, while the Communications System will manage and connect various systems in the trains and stations, utilising the latest networking technologies to enable efficient system operations and maintenance.
“Having successfully completed many projects for rail networks in Singapore and around the world, we are pleased that LTA has entrusted us with this important project and will bring our Group’s collective experience to deliver on the requirements,” said Chew Men Leong, President of Urban Solutions at ST Engineering.
To be constructed in three phases, the CRL is Singapore’s longest fully underground line. The CRL will serve residents in the eastern, western and north-eastern parts of Singapore, connecting major hubs such as Jurong Lake District, Punggol Digital District and Changi region.
This win further expands ST Engineering Urban Solutions’ global track record of more than 200 smart metro projects in over 50 cities. Besides completing the Communications System for Singapore’s North-South and East-West Lines, Circle Line and Downtown Line, as well as ISCS for the Circle Line and Downtown Line, ST Engineering Urban Solutions is also deploying the ISCS and Communications Systems for the Jurong Region Line, Downtown Line 3 Extension and Circle Line Stage 6. It has also delivered ISCS and Communications Systems for various metro lines in the Asia Pacific region.
