ST Engineering's Aerospace Arm Expands CFM Engine MRO Capability to LEAP-1B

Singapore, 12 February 2020 – ST Engineering today announced that its Aerospace arm has signed an agreement with CFM International* (CFM) to provide MRO support for its LEAP-1B engine. Through the agreement, ST Engineering will have the rights to the use technical data to perform MRO work on LEAP-1B, the exclusive powerplant for Boeing 737 MAX.

ST Engineering has a longstanding relationship with CFM as a licensed service centre for its CFM56-5B and -7B engines. Mr Lim Serh Ghee, President of ST Engineering’s Aerospace sector, said, “We are always building on our MRO capabilities and strengthening our partnership with OEMs to better serve our customers and their evolving maintenance needs. Our expanded capabilities will also position us well to capture new opportunities in the market.”

Gaël Méheust, President and CEO of CFM International said, “It is a real pleasure to expand our association with ST Engineering to include the LEAP-1B engine.  We have had a very long, successful relationship with them through the CFM56 product line.
