ST Engineering to Advance Singapore’s Road Transport Network with Next-Generation Intelligent Transport Systems

Singapore, 13 March 2026 – ST Engineering’s Urban Solutions business will be deploying an integrated suite of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) solutions for Singapore’s Land Transport Authority (LTA), aimed at creating a more responsive and future-ready road transport network in Singapore. Comprising the new iTransport platform, traffic monitoring camera system (TMCS) and integrated traffic and plant management system (ITPMS), these solutions will work together to enable smarter traffic management, smoother traffic flow and enhanced road safety.

“Being entrusted with these projects demonstrates the strength of our ITS solutions and proven capabilities in delivering large-scale road transport projects. Through our integrated systems, we are unlocking the true potential of ITS, enabling smarter and more coordinated traffic management. We look forward to continuing our longstanding partnership with LTA and supporting them on this journey to enhance the efficiency, responsiveness and resilience of Singapore’s road transport network,” said Hoe Yeen Teck, Head, Mobility Road and Services, Urban Solutions, ST Engineering.

Enabling Smarter Traffic Management

ST Engineering Urban Solutions will progressively implement its next-generation ITS solutions for real-time, island-wide traffic monitoring, management and control. This will optimise traffic flow, facilitate rapid and coordinated responses to incidents, and provide traffic operators with useful insights for efficient operations.

  •  iTransport
As the ‘nerve centre’ for traffic operations in Singapore, the new iTransport platform aggregates data from multiple sources to enhance traffic and incident management as well as support traffic analysis and planning. When integrated with ST Engineering Urban Solutions’ new ITPMS and TMCS solutions, iTransport will provide traffic operators with comprehensive and integrated, real-time information on traffic conditions across Singapore’s roads and tunnels. This will support prompt, coordinated incident response and optimised traffic flows, while streamlining operations and delivering data insights for traffic operators.

  • Traffic Monitoring Camera System (TMCS)
The enhanced TMCS will provide traffic operators with real-time, island-wide visibility of traffic conditions, supporting swift and coordinated traffic management responses to traffic congestion, incidents and major events. By centrally managing video feeds from thousands of traffic cameras at expressways, arterial roads, traffic junctions and tunnels across Singapore, the system will streamline and enhance efficiency in video management for traffic operators.

  • Integrated Traffic and Plant Management System (ITPMS)
To be implemented on the Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway (KPE) and Marina Coastal Expressway (MCE), the new ITPMS will centralise real-time monitoring, management and control of traffic systems as well as critical tunnel systems including lighting, ventilation and fire safety. Combining ST Engineering Urban Solutions’ proven capabilities in Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems with automated traffic monitoring, the ITPMS will optimise traffic flow, incident response and tunnel operations management, improving operational efficiency for traffic operators.

Awarded in 2025, these projects build on ST Engineering Urban Solutions’ longstanding contributions to Singapore’s road transport sector and its global track record of over 200 road projects in more than 40 cities, reinforcing its position as a trusted smart mobility partner to transport authorities and operators around the world.
