Thought Leadership
Kevin Chow, President, Commercial Aerospace, shares his perspective on how the business is positioned for growth.
June 2026
This month, we welcome Kevin Chow, our newly appointed President of Commercial Aerospace. Kevin previously led the Aerostructures and Systems business within Commercial Aerospace, and brings deep industry expertise, extensive leadership experience, and a strong track record of driving growth in the aerospace industry.
As aviation activity continues to grow globally, the industry is operating at a higher level of intensity. High fleet utilisation, extended aircraft lifecycles and the ramp-up in aircraft and engine production are driving sustained demand across both the MRO and OEM businesses, placing greater emphasis on the ability to deliver consistently. In addition, our Aviation Asset Management business is also seeing increased demand for aircraft and engine leasing.
For Kevin Chow, who now leads ST Engineering’s Commercial Aerospace business, the shift is not just in the level of demand, but in what it takes to deliver in this environment.
“What has changed for Commercial Aerospace is not just the level of demand, but the breadth and integration across the business today. As we continue to grow, our focus is on bringing our teams closer together, strengthening how we execute across the global network, and building the delivery momentum to support our customers reliably.”
This reflects a broader evolution in the industry. As airlines operate fleets more intensively and face longer lead times for new aircraft, the need for reliable lifecycle support has become more critical. At the same time, manufacturers are ramping up production, requiring deeper coordination across the complex supply chain and closer alignment between manufacturing and aftermarket services.
Against this backdrop, Commercial Aerospace has deepened and broadened how it supports customers across the aircraft lifecycle. Its capabilities today span design and engineering, original equipment manufacturing, maintenance services for airframes, components and engines, as well as asset management and leasing. Together, these capabilities enable the business to deliver more integrated solutions that combine engineering depth with operational flexibility and reliability.
The focus has also been on strengthening execution. This includes expanding capacity in key markets, deepening partnerships to broaden service offerings, and building stronger linkages across its global network. In parallel, digital and AI enabled solutions are being integrated to enhance productivity and improve the consistency and quality of delivery.
As the industry continues to grow, the differentiator lies not only in capability, but in how consistently that capability can be deployed.
“For us, it comes down to execution. As our customers scale their operations, they need partners who can deliver reliably across different geographies and across the full lifecycle. That means building breadth and depth in our capabilities, staying close to our customers, and ensuring that our global teams operate with the same discipline and focus.”
As demand continues to rise, the ability to execute well across the lifecycle will remain a key differentiator. For Commercial Aerospace, this means continuing to strengthen operational capabilities, deepen collaboration across its global network, and stay closely aligned with customer needs as it supports the next phase of aviation growth.
ST Engineering’s Commercial Aerospace business keeps the world flying safely, leveraging over 50 years of proven expertise in aviation solutions and highly skilled engineers and technicians across facilities in Asia Pacific, the U.S., and Europe. Our comprehensive aviation lifecycle solutions cover design and engineering, original equipment manufacturing, airframe, component and engine maintenance services, as well as asset management and leasing.
